Going on a Vacation?

Dreaming of a trip for a vacation can be the most exciting event you will do all year!

Planning this trip can be the most challenging.

Some people would say that they prefer not to plan out their entire trip since following a step by step itinerary is not what they call a vacation. It is common to just get there and do as they wish.

The intent of this post is to give you easy tips to plan a vacation, with the best tool possible, an itinerary!

Itinerary can offer a well thought out framework that may allow things to flow more smoothly since time is your greatest asset on a trip.  You want to maximize your time when traveling and an itinerary allows you to do that.

1. Do your research!
  • Know a little history of where you are going. Even just a little background will get you on the right frame of mind for this adventure.
  • Find out what there is to do at your destination.
  • There are plenty of things to do at a beach location other then laying on the beach.
  • Use maps that mark hiking trails to waterfalls and canyons, or caves. Without map planning you could miss out on an adventure of a lifetime.
  • With city locations, know the main site you want to see, then research the area to see what else there is in the area. You could be missing out on the most romantic scenic view.
2. Where to stay!
  • If you are going to a big city, get a hotel in a central location. This tends to allow easy public transportation use and walking to many attractions marking off many of your to-do in a short amount of time.
  • If you are going to a beach, then have your night stay somewhere within walking distance to the beach, this allows for ample beach time, without much travel to take away from the relaxing time in the sun.
3. Sightseeing!

  • For city locations, break down the city into sections, such as north, south, east and west. This allows you to see and do as much as you possibly can in one location at a time.
  • For example, to see a particular attraction or museum in the north of the city then travel across town to see the second, time is lost. With ideal planning, you could see many attractions in the north location of the city all in one day or half a day, then do your traveling to see the other half another day.

Have FUN! And be Safe!!
